Nonprofit work has long been a part of India’s developmental fabric. But for the world to truly appreciate this, the sector must find the language to tell its story. In its inaugural edition, India Nonprofit Report (INR), co-published by Dasra and Kearney, takes a step in this direction. The report provides cutting-edge insights into the nonprofit sector, exploring its evolving dynamics—shifts in scale, scope, and pace. Analyzing 400 survey responses by NGOs working across India on varied thematic areas, insights from 30 in-depth NGO interviews, and official NGO Darpan data, it offers a structured social impact taxonomy to unpack the operations, evolution, and impact of nonprofits.
