At SkollWorldForum2025, Dasra convened two powerful conversations on the transformative role of philanthropy in shaping a more just, resilient, and sustainable future for India.Powering Change: Women-Led Philanthropy in Action – In collaboration with the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development (OICSD), this panel spotlighted the visionary leadership of women in philanthropy. The conversation explored innovative funding models, cross-sector collaboration, and how women-led giving is driving systemic change across India. It also highlighted key issues faced by women, the pivotal role philanthropy can play in addressing them, and the growing momentum for gender-equitable development across the Global South.Unlocking the Potential of Diaspora to Build a Climate-Resilient India – As India faces intensifying climate challenges, the role of diaspora philanthropy has never been more critical. This session explored how diaspora leaders can move beyond traditional giving to fund community-led climate action, support climate-vulnerable populations, and influence policies that drive long-term resilience. The conversation highlighted the need for collaborative funding models, institutional partnerships, and leveraging India's rich resources to accelerate climate solutions at scale. These discussions reaffirmed a core truth: real, lasting change happens when philanthropy is bold, inclusive, and rooted in community wisdom. We’re grateful to all the changemakers who shared their insights and energized this dialogue.
