Abhishek began his work in the development sector as a social studies teacher in
Mumbai with a desire to understand and improve education and its perception in
the country. He believes it is crucial to encourage groups of thoughtful,
committed citizens who wish to change the world.
What excites him most about the sector is the potential of learnings from local
innovations/communities to spark a change in systems and mindsets at scale. At
Dasra, Abhishek will collaborate with non-profits to amplify their impact
through the adoption of open-source technology and the use of data for decision
making. Before joining Dasra Abhishek managed social impact programs at
ConveGenius, a social enterprise that works directly with state governments to
provide ed tech solutions to students in public schools. Other organisations he
has worked with include Atma, Antarang, and Teach for India. Abhishek graduated
from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies with a Bachelor’s Degree in
Business Administration and a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship.
